The centre of community activities in Chapeltown. Advocate and advise on education issues. An arts, education and culture venue. Maintain a sustain programmes of arts, educational, cultural and history-based events. Help to maintain and deepen social justice and cohesion for local communities. Act as the Cultural Enterprise-Arm of the Centre, which carries out Trading-Arm functions. The premier local community-led entertainment centre to show-case local, national and international talents. Paul is especially interested in Black communities, their organisation and regeneration, and has worked on a range of funded programmes including health inequalities, youth provision, arts and culture, the local environment, community cohesion, community business development, and social justice issues. In his spare time, Paul’s enjoys community gardening, writing and publishing.
Ian is also a co-founders of the 50-year old Leeds West Indian Carnival, and was honoured with an MBE in 2007 for ‘Services to the Leeds Community.’
Claude is a past- Director of the TRUST’s Leeds Bi-Centenary Transformation Project and past-Manager of the Race Card and Black Male Role Model projects. On behalf of the TRUST, he led a team of consultant in the development of the ‘Leeds Self-build & Custom-build Strategy 2016-2026.’ Claude is a regular public speaker on social justice issues that negatively impact Black communities across the UK, and is a National Self-build Champion. In his spare time Claude interests lie in the development of community media platforms using radio and internet TV.
